Salsa 1-2 suits dancers who've completed beginner basics or have equivalent social salsa experience. Comfortable with basic steps and timing makes learning choreography and partnerwork faster, but motivated newcomers can still thrive with focused practice and instructor guidance.

No, you don't need to bring a partner. Instructors rotate partners and pair students during class so everyone practices leading and following. We encourage communication and partnerships form naturally, but bringing a partner is welcome if you prefer.

Pace depends on attendance, practice, and prior experience. Most students memorize core sequences in a few weeks, refining styling and transitions over several months. Regular practice and review outside class speed progress and improve musical interpretation.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows hip and leg movement, such as leggings or dance pants. Bring smooth-soled shoes or dance sneakers for turns, water, and a small towel. Optional: notebook for choreography notes and a friendly attitude!

Salsa 1-2 bridges beginner and early-intermediate levels. Absolute beginners may find some material challenging, but dedicated newcomers can keep up with extra practice or by starting in our Level 1 foundational course first.

Instructors use demonstrations, hands-on adjustments when appropriate, verbal cues, and video breakdowns to correct posture, timing, and partner connection. They provide individualized feedback and drills so students can internalize corrections and apply them within choreography and social dancing.
