I'm always switching up my workouts. To cycling, yoga, crossfit and now Zumba! I was searching for a dance studio that offers Zumba. I came accords LA DanceFit Studio. Not only do they offer Zumba classes, but they offer 1 comp class. I love this offer because you get to "test it" out before investing. I easily signed up for a comp class.

Parking was a bit tricky as it is only street parking really. If I remember, they do have maybe 2/3 spots located in the back, but those were takin.

When I walked in, I was greeted by a nice gentleman who walked me to the second level. He let me know to go at my own pace and to just have fun. I'm glad he gave me this tip as I've only done Zumba once before years ago.

There was a good amount of people taking the class. The studio was big enough for everyone to spread out and move about. The instructor started us with a warm up and then we got into it. The music was great and the energy in the room was everything. It was a great workout and I felt really good afterwards.

I took Body Groove class with Nikki and had the absolute time of my life!

When I first heard of Body Groove, I wasn’t sure about the style of dance or how difficult it would be. I have taken a lot of dance classes over the years, and this one was the easiest to pick up by far. All the moves that the class does in unison are open to interpretation, and there are no wrong answers! Seriously! If you’re rusty, have two left feet, or you’ve never even danced before, you can joyfully dance your way through this class. AND if you’re an accomplished dancer, you will have a blast expressing yourself and get a great workout.

Nikki was a fabulous teacher: hilarious, uplifting, and great at breaking down the moves. She was attentive to the needs of everyone in class, providing thoughtful options for modifications that still felt fully engaged with the dances. As a bonus, she had so many creative interpretations of the motions that it was fun to watch her for inspiration throughout the songs. I don’t know how anybody on earth could have gotten through even a few minutes of this class without a huge smile on their face.

It felt like having an energetic dance party with friends on a weekday morning! I had so much fun that I didn’t even notice that I was doing an insane amount of cardio. Go check it out! You will not regret it!...more

I took Body Groove which is taught by Nikki Tilmouth. I always feel like an idiot in dance class, but this was no ordinary dance class. Nikki's exuberant enthusiasm, choice of music, and amazing choreography made everything easy to follow, and I had a wonderful time. If you want to have fun, dance, and just feel great about your body, take this class. There are even chairs to use as props, or if you need to do some sitting movement!. FANTASTIC experience!! I am visiting family and searched for a dance fitness workout in LA. I did the Uplift then Zumba on a Friday morning. I hit the jackpot. The studio is easy to get to with lots of space, very well designed. There are a variety of classes throughout the week . The vibe is let’s have fun but work it. Whenever I visit LA, I try and take classes at LA Dancefit. In fact, I just celebrated a recent birthday in LA and took 4 classes this past weekend and loved them all. I took cardio dance 2x, a reggae ton choreo class and also a heels class. The vibe is casual and friendly and everyone just loves to dance. THE ABSOLUTE BEST DANCE STUDIO!!! I was visiting from Boston and Googled dance fitness classes and landed here - and boy did I luck out! I took an amazing Zumba class & an amazing cardio hip-hop class. Both were high energy, calorie scorching workouts with instructors that were kind, fun, personable, and easy to follow. They offer MANY classes everyday and even have kids classes. The facility is perfect: dark walls with color lights give this place a wonderful nightclub type feel; a stage for the teacher means you can always see them, no matter where you are; a nice dance floor, hand towels are provided which is a HUGE bonus; there are roomy, gender neutral bathrooms to change in, and cubbies to store your stuff; they also sell water and cute fitness clothes. I can't say enough good stuff about this well-thought-out, customer friendly, amazing dance studio. I wish I could pick it up, with all the great instructors in it, and bring it home to Boston with me!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I had the opportunity to take two of Tier’s Cardio Hip Hop classes while I was visiting LA and I truly can’t say enough good things about it. I went to her class in Nashville for a year before she moved back to LA, and I’ve yet to find anything that even comes close to her class. Tier is passionate, extremely talented, and her energy is unmatched. It’s a guarantee that you will have a blast while getting the absolute best workout. I go to the cardio hip hop classes that Tier teaches and they are fantastic. I live about 40min to an hour away and her class is worth the drive. I love her class, there is no ego, her song selections are so bomb, and she has fun, diverse choreography. I always have so much fun and don’t even recognize the muscles that she’s working out until the next day when I’m sore. I burn more calories in her hour class than I do running sprints on the treadmill. Whether you can or can’t dance it doesn’t matter you’ll find your groove. It’s a judgement free zone. It’s only a matter of time before more people discover this class....more

I've become a huge fan of this place. I stumbled into this place because I've been looking for different types of cardio exercise I can do. I used to run long distance regularly, but ever since I had hurt my knee, I needed to find something different to do. I think the cardio hip hop and zumba classes here are a perfect alternative. The choreo is easy to follow, and you definitely get your heart rate up.

Wil-son, Jhon and Heather are my favorites. Though Jhon's moves are a bit more complex, and harder to follow. I think his classes would be great for someone who already has a hip hop background. Wil-son and Heather really break down their moves, so it's easy for anyone to follow along, regardless of your dance background. This studio is a very non-judgemental zone and I see people of all ages and size here.

They provide towel service and cubbies. Bring your own water though!

The first class is $10, and then they are $16 after that. They have different discount passes your can buy off their website. And they're also on ClassPass!...more
